"The Cove" is the documentary that has all the excitement of whodunit, or a spy thriller. On the other hand, it will make you want to rip your face off, which seems to be the function of documentaries these days. It's set in Japan, and it's based on a true story of a hidden cove where dolphins are either trapped to be used in exhibits or are actually killed, and how they go about filming it and what actually happened, and the chance to be an activist of actually changing how things are done, makes the documentary even more alarming and more interesting than most documentaries that aren't trying emotionally to get you to do something about a difficult situation. I don't want to tell you very much about it, because I want you to see it for yourself, but it is a truly amazing documentary, where there's actually something you can do. This is five stars.
