Nunsense is being called a revival of the show that started in 1983. Yeah, I know, what is that, 27 years ago? It does seem a bit dated. 27 years ago, nuns were just getting out of the habit, get it, which is a big joke for this play, interminably in this particular situation. There's a cast of five, which are relatively talented. The first act, I found tedious, sort of raunchy, and somewhat disrespectful. The second act, I thought was significantly better. I'm not sure exactly why. Maybe because it was just a little more grown-up, maybe it was a little more focused because they didn't try so hard to be cutesy. The audience seemed to like it. I just think that theatre should have something more than a skit and a one-trick pony. If you're Catholic, you may find it more amusing than if you're not. On the other hand, as I said, I found the first half somewhat disrespectful but the second half much more fun and much more likeable. So, the first act, I would have given one star, the second, three, so I guess it averages out -- well, because the second act was significantly better, we'll give it a 2.5.
