I liked everything about this movie except the spelling of the title. It's kind of a cross between a Bollywood musical and Slumdog Millionaire and throw in some aborigines. It's got three young, attractive people that are in some sort of love triangle. Our hero is a only child of a single parent mom who wants him to be a priest. Geoffrey Rush plays the priest with a heavy German accent, tongue firmly in cheek. Our hero is in love with Rosie who is tempting him and then there is the handsome dude who wants Rosie to sing in his band. The voices of all three are terrific and the first time they break into song, you think whoa. It's a terrific cast. It was based on a play from Australia with a cast of people that I knew nothing about but are incredibly talented, especially Uncle Tadpole's Ernie Dingo who has got a wonderful face and a wonderful voice. The movie is very hard to describe, but you'll have a great time there and again four and a half stars from me. So go see Bran Nue Dae, even if they can't spell.
